It only seems like an eternity that I have been chasing after a clean, wholesome diet. Some days are better than others. The not-so-great days happen more often than I care to admit, but I'll be damned if I'm not giving it my all. I can't seem to kick my sugar habit so I've started looking for recipes to satiate my sweet tooth without the guilt. I have found inspiration in the following:
Bake and Destroy
Natalie Slater
Page Street Publishing
Summary:
Inside this high-energy cookbook you’ll find recipes for Bike Messenger Brownies—inspired by the espresso-infused chai latte these speed demons use to fuel up; and Crouching Cornbread, Hidden Broccoli—Natalie’s sneaky way of getting her son to eat vegetables. Other creations include the Grilled Mac ‘n’ Cheez Sandwich, Taco Lasagna, Chick-O Cheesecake, and her Shepherd’s Pie Pizza, about which she writes, "Some people were born to rock n’ roll. Others were born to ride. I was born to put mashed potatoes on pizza."
But I Could Never Go Vegan
Kristy Turner
The Experiment
Summary:
If you’re a waffling vegan newbie, on-the-fence vegetarian, or veg-curious omnivore, this book will banish your doubts. You’ll find you can get enough protein, fit in at a potluck, learn to love cauliflower, and enjoy pizza, nachos, brownies, and more—without any animal products at all. (Even vegan pros will discover some new tricks!)
What are you lovely people reading about this week? Any good deserts to share vegan or otherwise?
I could go vegan a couple times a week but not everyday!

ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. BAKE AND DESTROY looks so awesome! I used to ogle at cupcake cookbooks in the university bookshop, and they had a sweet vegan section. The foods in But I Could Never Go Vegan! look amazing. Your post is making me hungry.
