What I'm Reading Monday: Budget Bites

I finally got an apartment and it's MINE. Those four little letters are so glorious! It sadly leaves me room for little else. Naturally, I turned to the library, the only place where you can stay without having to buy anything and I found some great books. There may be a shot at being Susie Home-maker for me in my future yet ;)

Sheet Pan Suppers

Molly Gilbert

Workman Publishing Company

It's the one-pot meal reinvented, and what is sure to become every busy cook's new favorite way of getting dinner on the table. It's Sheet Pan Suppers-a breakthrough full-color cookbook with more than 120 recipes for complete meals, snacks, brunch, and even dessert, that require nothing more than a sheet pan, your oven, and Molly Gilbert's inspired approach.

Maximum ease, minimal cleanup, and mouthwatering recipes. In other words, a revelation that will change the way we cook.

Hip Girls Guide to the Kitchen

Katie Payne

Harper Design

The Hip Girl's Guide to the Kitchen includes advice and instructions on how to make both classic meals and foods that are typically bought, such as yogurt; ice cream; flavored salt; oil and vinegar infusions; kimchi; aioli; jam; granola; bread; and fruit leather-even liqueurs, iced teas, and vegetable juices. With fun line drawings, side bars full of tips and tricks, and lists of resources, Kate Payne sets you up for success and shows you how to unlock your inner kitchen prowess.

  6. Congrats on your apartment! I want to have my own place too. But it'll have to wait. Haha! I don't cook (oops) but I really want to learn soon. Haha! Perhaps I need to buy simple recipe books. :)

    New follower! :)

  7. Ohh I love a good cookbook too. The covers on both would be enough to tempt to look inside :-)

  8. Congrats on the apartment! Those look like my kind of cookbooks! I live by my crockpot. The best cookbook ever for it--How to Make Love and Dinner at the Same Time. Not only are there great recipes, but the sidebars are hilarious!
