Armchair BEA: Introductions

Introductions

  1. Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging? Where in the world are you blogging from?
Hi! I'm a 27 year old living in the shadows of Chicago. I am a mover and shaker, a picture taker, a nature lover, a hula hooper, book devourer, thought giver, story reader, and tea snob: a.k.a. Kate

It's very nice to meet YOU as I am sure you are quite wonderful!

I started blogging a couple of years ago and it has been an amazing journey that has extended far beyond the pages and into the personal lives of bloggers all over the world.

Describe your blog in just one sentence. Then, list your social details -- Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc. -- so we can connect more online.
One word:  "chameleon."

Social Media:

Twitter: @chameleonreads
Pinterest: www.pinterest.com/uniqueish87
Email: literarychameleon@gmail.com

I also offer a recommendation service. If you email me with the titles of the last two books you read and liked, I'll email you one more. I have a knack for this and I have even done this for authors so I look forward to helping you broaden your reading horizons :)

What genre do you read the most?

I love to read Young Adult because it's constantly in a state of transition, literally, stories about people figuring out a new phase of their life story.

What was your favorite book last year?

My favorite would be Firecracker by David Iserson. Two Words: New Girl. Yep, he's the writer of the hit show and now he's written a book as funny as the show!

What is your ideal reading space look like?

My favorite blogging resource is: people! They are always willing to share their input and the community is ever growing!

My favorite reading quote:

  3. Through all my reading of blogs for Armchair BEA, I found the new subgenre of "New Adult". When I was 27, I was reading much older titles like Dorothy Sayers and Agatha Christie because I couldn't find anything that spoke to me. Then I ended up reading nothing but middle grade literature because of my job, but it's what I really love. YA is appealing to so many people, and I'm curious now to read some NA! Have fun with Armchair BEA!

  5. Hi, Kate!
I love YA. Even though I am 28, I feel like i just connect with it better than some of the other genres that I have read.
I think that your book recommendation service sounds neat!
    I love the quote too!
It is nice to meet you, and thank you so much for stopping by my blog!
    Happy Armchair BEA!

  6. Great quote! (And scientific studies prove that readers are actually MORE social than your average bear....I know I read this somewhere, even if I can't back it up with a little footnote). So nice to meet you here. Enjoy Armchair BEA.

  7. Hi Kate! You hit the nail on the head when you described YA Lit. as "transitory." I agree that its ever evolving status is one thing that makes it so appealing.
